This training provides opioid overdose awareness education and teaches participants how to respond to these emergencies including the administration of Narcan, a lifesaving overdose-reversal medication. Anyone can save a life during an opioid overdose with naloxone (Narcan), a front-line defense in the nation's opioid crisis.

Everyone who overdoses with opioids, whether it is with a prescribed medicine or an illicit drug, needs naloxone. Examples of opioids include heroin, fentanyl, oxycodone, hydrocodone, codeine, and morphine. Because overdoses can happen anywhere, naloxone is designed to be used by anyone, even a bystander.

Stafford Crossing Community Church is located at 1420 Forbes St., Fredericksburg, VA 22405.
