20 Day Prayer Guide - Week 3

➤ Monday, November 17
Attentive to Needs
Generosity begins with noticing the needs right around us.

Philippians 2:3-4 (NIV)

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests
of the others.”

Prayer:

Lord, make me attentive to the needs of others today.

Sharing More Than Money
True generosity includes our time, attention, and encouragement.

1 Timothy 6:17-19 (NIV)
“Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”

Prayer:
Lord, teach me to be generous with more than just money—but with my whole being.
➤ Wednesday, November 19
A Generous Household

Families can grow in generosity together, modeling it for the next generation.

Joshua 24:15 (NIV)

“...But as for me and my household, we will serve the Lord.”

Prayer:

Lord, grow a spirit of generosity in my family that will extend to future generations.
➤ Thursday, November 20
A Generous Church
The early church was marked by radical generosity that advanced the Kingdom of God.

Philippians 4:15-16 (NIV)
“Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need.”

Prayer:
Lord, thank You for my church family. Grow a spirit of radical generosity in our church, like the Philippians, that is catalytic for Your Kingdom.

Unity Through Generosity
Generosity creates unity in the body of Christ when no one is left out.

Acts 2:44-45 (NIV)
“All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need.”

Prayer:

Lord, grow my heart of compassion and concern for those in need. Use my giving to build unity and meet needs in Your church.
